This picture shows the built in table. Rachel is tall, the height is just right!

Due to limitations on moving the plumbing in this ground floor condominium, the 2 sinks in this kosher kitchen both hug the corner. The apothecary drawers increase access to the counterspace in the corner which is home to a Vitamix and a capacious hot water urn. You also get a good view of the Sea drift stain and Legend door style here.

The kitchen layout is dynamic, following the 45° angles of the walls and echoing them in the peninsula table. The cabinets are by Canyon Creek. They are partial overlay (AKA traditional overlay) in beech wood. The door style is a modified Shaker profile called "Legend" and is stained "Sea Drift." You can see the wood grain just a little, but Sea Drift is an opaque stain.

These drawings show the outlines of the kitchen. Walls (and a soffit) that were removed are colored orange; new walls are light blue. 1 and 2: we took out a small closet pantry and moved the kitchen entry several inches into that space to make room for the large buffet pantry. 3 and 4: We "borrowed" a little piece of the huge living room where the wall already jogged in to create a section of the buffet/pantry that could be a full 24" deep instead of 12". The living room didn't mind at all!

This beautiful buffet and pantry takes Rachel's kitchen from attractive to WOW! From the front you would think all the cabinets are 12" deep. But check out the next picture...

As you can see, this large reverse pantry cabinet is a full 24" deep. (See the plan drawing to understand how we did it!)
